World Water Day is observed on March 22 every year to educate the importance of water to the whole world. The day also highlights the necessary improvement for access to water, hygiene facilities, and sanitation in all the countries. Air, water, and food are the three essential things human needs to survive on Earth. Water is one of the prime necessities. Without an adequate and continuous source of water, life could not exist on earth. Hence, we can say that” Water is Life”. Every year there is a theme associated with World Water Day. This theme puts light on various issues related to the cause. The theme for World Water Day 2021 is “valuing water” and highlights the importance of conserving water and its value. People and organizations mark World Water Day every year by taking action to tackle the water crisis in different ways. The celebration aims to create awareness of water and its resources which are crucial for the survival of living beings on earth. The idea of International Water Day started in 1992, the year in which the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro took place. That same year, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a resolution by which 22 March of each year was declared World Day for Water, to be observed starting in 1993.
